Mae’r clwb newydd cyffrous, Clwb Hoci ‘Inline’ Llanelli Phoenix, newydd ddechrau cynnal sesiynau bob nos Wener yng Nghanolfan Hamdden, Llanelli. Sefydlwyd y clwb ar ôl derbyn arian o Chwaraeon Cymru. Cafodd £4956 i brynu offer sglefrio, er mwyn denu aelodau newydd i’r clwb.
Trefnwyd sesiynau rhoi cynnig ar Hoci ‘Inline’ yn ystod sesiwn wythnosol 5×60 yn y Canolfan Hamdden Llanelli. Mae criw o ddisgyblion o’r Strade a Sant Ioan Llwyd yn ymuno pob dydd Gwener i chwarae badminton, tennis bwrdd, sboncen, pêl-droed ac i fynd nofio. Cynhelir sesiynau 5×60 syth ar ôl ysgol pob dydd Gwener tan 5pm ac mae’n gyfle i ymlacio gyda ffrindiau diwedd yr wythnos.
Mae’r Phoenix wedi cytuno i gynnig sesiynau rhoi cynnig ar ‘inline hockey’ i ddisgyblion. Er bod ‘hoci’ yn gêm gyflym, ddeinamig a llawn cyffro, mae’r offer gallu bod yn ddrud. Mae’r cit yn cynnwys helmet, ffon, esgidiau rolio, menyg a phadiau ar gyfer ysgwyddau, breichiau, coesau a chanol y corff! Mae sesiynau 5×60 yn caniatáu pobl ifanc i fenthyg offer am ddim heb orfod gwario llawer o arian.

An exciting new club, Llanelli Phoenix Inline Hockey Club has started running sessions every Friday evening in Llanelli Leisure Centre. The club was established after receiving a grant from Sport Wales. The club received £4956 to buy equipment so that they could attract new members to the club.
Inline Hockey taster sessions were organised to take place during the weekly 5×60 session in Llanelli Leisure Centre. A group of Strade and St John Lloyd pupils meet every Friday to play badminton, table tennis, squash, football and to go swimming. The sessions take place after school on a Friday until 5pm and it’s an opportunity for pupils to relax with their friends at the end of the week.
Phoenix agreed to run some taster sessions for pupils. Even though Inline Hockey is an exciting, dynamic game full of excitement, it can be expensive. The kit includes helmet, stick, skates, gloves and pads for shoulders, arms, legs and the midrif! The 5×60 sessions allow pupils to try the game without having to buy all the expensive equipment!
